MOORLAND LADIES DARTS LEAGUE RULES & REGULATIONS 2007/2008
1. All players female and male must be 18 years or over to compete in the league matches and competitions.
2. Matches to consist of three doubles, best of 3 legs, 501 flying start, double finish and six singles , best of 3
legs 301, double start and double finish.
3. No player can transfer from one league team to another league team after the first three matches of the
current season.
4. Minimum length of throw, 7 ft 9¼ ins. Centre of board 5 ft 8 ins from the floor.
5. Games to commence at 8pm. If a player is not present when due to play her name and that of her opponent
will be put at the bottom of the list. Any player arriving after 9.30pm will not be eligible to play but may be
substituted by a reserve player - one who has not already played. If there is no substitute then the game is
awarded to the absent players opponent.
6. The two Captains control the game. The home team to provide the markers and the away team to provide
the callers.
7. If the Captain of any team is not happy with the condition of the board, they must say before any game is
played and may ask the opposing Captain to change the board - it can’t be changed in the middle of a
match. If the lighting of the Board is not suitable, the Captain may ask for the light to be changed
(100 watt bulb). If in any doubt ring executive committee member
8. The final date for registration of teams is 15th August. This should be done on the forms provided at the
A. G. M. Or failing this, may be registered by telephone with the registration form and signatures
forwarded to the secretary at the earliest date.
9. The annual league fee is £35.00 to be paid to the secretary or treasurer in a sealed envelope with the name of
the team written on the front by the end of February. Any new teams or those returning after a break must
pay a non-refundable registration fee of £5.00 which will be deducted from the league fees when they fall
due. Any monies not paid by the due date will incur a £5.00 fine.
10. All players competing in league matches must be registered with the secretary before they are eligible to
play, that is at the latest 6.30pm on the evening of the match by telephone. Their signatures must then be
forwarded with the relevant match card in a sealed envelope and by first class post. Any team playing a
non-registered player will forfeit the match to their opponents. 6 points to the non-offending team and
minus 4 points to the offending team.
11. The home team is responsible for posting the match card which should be posted by first class post no later
Than 24 hours after the match. A fine of £5.00 will be imposed if posted later than the Saturday following
the match - the post mark to verify the date of postage. If for any reason you are unable to post the card
please phone the details of the match to the secretary as soon as possible.
12. Any team failing to supply a match card will forfeit the game 6-0 to the away team and minus 4 points to
the home team. Match cards for cancelled matches must still be forwarded to the secretary, and the
Secretary informed beforehand if the match is cancelled.
13. If a cancelled match is not replayed within 28 days of its original date, the result will be null and void, and
No points will be awarded to either team.
14. Only under extenuating circumstances, ie severe weather conditions or team bereavement, will a match be
allowed to be cancelled or postponed. Prior consent of the secretary must be sought and the match replayed
within 28 days of the original date. If a team fails to appear for any other reason, the non - offending team
will be awarded a 9-0 result.
15. All players competing in competitions must be at their venues by 7.30pm unless stated differently by the
secretary. If players are not present when their name is written on the board, UNLESS PRIOR
NOTIFICATION IS GIVEN TO THE SECRETARY, will result in that player being scratched from the
Competition.
16. All telephone numbers for team captains and venues will be supplied to each team captain.
17. Any games not completed at the end of licensing hours will be completed on the night at the sole discretion
of the licensee. Any games not played will be declared null and void on the match card with no points being
awarded for them.
18. If a team has 5 players or less, these players may double up in the doubles, provided that no two players
play together in more than one double ie if 5 players, a player may play in 2 doubles and 1 single.
19. If a team only has 5 players, then 6 cards are still to be put in the draw for the singles, the missing player
must be entered on the match card as a BYE.
20. It is left to the discretion of the landlord to provide a raised ocki.
21. When throwing for the bull, the dart has to be in the area within the double - it does not have to be in the
area from the bull to the treble.
22. All darts must be left in the board until the caller had shouted. The marker and caller must not distract the
player by leaning forward unless asked to verify the position of the dart by the player herself.
23. The decision of the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE in all matters not covered by the above rules shall be
deemed as final.
